Installation Floater explained

Normally the policy extends to cover the property/materials while in transit to the job site. To simplify, the policy covers materials or equipment to be installed at the job site as well as materials or equipment while in transit to the job site for installation. For example, let’s take an air-conditioning contractor installing a new air-conditioning unit.  The contractor picks up the unit from the supplier and drives it to the job site for installation.  On the way to the job site, the contractor’s vehicle is involved in an accident and the air-conditioning unit is damaged.  The damaged unit will be replaced by the contractor’s insurance company.  Another example, the contractor picks up a new air-conditioning unit from the supplier and delivers it to the job site without incident.  At the job site the contractor drops off the new unit and leaves for lunch.  Upon returning to the jobsite, he discovers that the unit’s been stolen. The stolen unit will be replaced by the contractor’s insurance company under the terms of the installation floater.
